As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working in a small community-based organization, play an active role in day-to-day operations and long term development, and contribute your skills and knowledge to achieve gratifying results.


Internships are available for undergraduate and graduate students as well as high school students.  School credit is given based on arrangements made with your school or institution.  Internships for non-students are also available. 

 

AREAS OF FOCUS

Internships are designed according to specific needs, skills, and interests of the intern in coordination with Music Mobile’s current and long range goals.  Examples of projects are:

  • web site design

  • developing multimedia learning materials

  • developing marketing materials and strategies

  • researching topics related to Music Mobile’s programs in conflict resolution, neighborhood arts, community development, drug prevention, literacy, and others

  • assisting at Music Mobile’s school, park, and community programs for children and families

  • community outreach and program publicity

  • curriculum development

  • grant research and development

MUSIC MOBILE'S RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to make the internship experience one of depth, value, and integrity,  Music Mobile will work with each intern to:

  • provide intern with an overview of the organization

  • provide projects that are fulfilling, challenging, and beneficial to the intern’s goal

  • develop an internship agreement

  • meet regularly to discuss projects, goals, and objectives

  • maintain time sheets and keep track of attendance

  • give midterm evaluation

  • give a final grade (satisfactory/unsatisfactory) if needed
